Turquoise is an opaque, blue-to-green mineral that is has been prized as a gem and ornamental stone for thousands of years owing to its unique hue. Turquoise beads and pendants are often "stabilized," meaning they are sealed with resin to enhance hardness and shine. Yellow turquoise is actually a mix of Serpentine, Jasper, and Quartz, but it is often found near true Turquoise mines, hence the name. Turquoise beads come in all shapes from rough chips to large nuggets, as well as polished rounds, tubes, ovals, and even flowers.
