Stranded Bracelet

Instructions:
These instructions will make a finished bracelet about 8 1/2" long. Measure your wrist before you begin and decide how long you would like your bracelet to be. Adjust your measurements accordingly.
- Begin by cutting your 8" piece of amethyst gemstone sterling silver wire wrapped chain to size with a pair of flush cutters. You'll notice that when you cut this chain, you'll need to remove the whole link with the gemstone on it. So check the ends of your chain to see if the links at the ends are intact. Start with an intact link at one end (remove a link if neither end is intact) and measure 7" of chain. Cut off the next link after your measured mark so that you end up with a 7" length of chain that has both end links intact.

Next, cut a 7" length of 4mm sterling silver cable chain. Take your length of baby blue silk fabric flat silky ribbon and thread it through the first link of your cable chain. Continue threading through the length of cable chain, going through every few links, and ending by coming through the last link. Pull several inches out past the end of the chain.

Tie an overhand knot onto the last link and pull it very tight. Trim the excess ribbon close to the knot with a pair of flush cutters and apply a small amount of E6000 glue to secure the knot.

Repeat the last step with the other end of the ribbon and cable chain. Let the glue dry for at least an hour before you use this piece.

Cut a 7" length of 5mm sterling silver large flattened cable chain.

Cut a 7" length of sterling silver paillette round disc chain. Make sure that you cut away the disc portion of the excess when you cut the chain, so that your finished length ends with a ring on each end.

Next, watch the video: How to do Pearl Knotting Using Tweezers. This video will demonstrate the technique used to make a strand of knotted pearls. It will also show you how to place knot covers on the ends of your work. Following the instructions in the video, knot 25 peacock steel blue cultured pearls onto size 2 Griffin silk beading cord in purple lilac and secure the ends of your strand in sterling silver clamshell knot covers.

Next you will secure all five of your finished strands onto a pair of sterling silver strand reducers. Start on one end by attaching your gemstone chain to the last ring in each strand reducer using 4mm, 21 gauge sterling silver jump rings.

Next to the gemstone chain, attach your flattened cable chain to the next loops on your strand reducers with jump rings.

Attach your strand of pearls to the center ring on each strand reducer by bending down the hooks on the knot covers into loops using a pair of chain nose pliers.

Attach the paillette chain onto the next loops on each strand reducer using jump rings.

Attach the ribbon woven chain to the last loops on the strand reducers using jump rings.

Using jump rings, attach one end of a 15mm sterling silver sleep wrap toggle clasp to each of the strand reducers.

Variations
Use different chains, different pearls, or a different metal finish to completely change the style of this bracelet.
When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.
