The Graveyard Shift Bracelet

A trio of skulls and crossbones are woven into this cuff bracelet with glow in the dark seed beads. It's the perfect unisex accessory for the Halloween season.

Instructions:
These instructions will make a bracelet that is about 6 1/4" long. To increase the length of your bracelet, add additional rows of plain black beads before and after the skulls in the pattern.
- Before you begin, watch the instructional video: How to do Flat Odd Count Peyote Stitch. This video will demonstrate the stitch you will use to make this bracelet.

Using size 8/0 black Czech seed beads, complete four rows of peyote stitch 25 beads wide.

Then begin to follow the pattern from the top down in the chart to complete the skull design using black and glow in the dark 8/0 Czech seed beads. Be sure to also include the plain rows of black beads below the skull to create space between the skulls.

Repeat the pattern twice more to give a total of three skulls.

Tie off and weave in your ends.

Create three beaded beads as demonstrated in this video, using the glow in the dark beads. Leave yourself an 8-10" tail at the beginning and end and DO NOT CUT your threads after you make the final knot.

Attach your beaded beads along the top edge of your bracelet (see photo for placement reference). This process is discussed in this video. Place one black bead onto your threads and then string each thread into the beads to either side on the top edge of the bracelet. The video shows adding another bead to each side here, but skip that step. The beaded beads will be added between the 2nd and 3rd beads, between the 6th and 7th beads, and between the 10th and 11th beads. Tie off and weave in your ends.

Then create the loops along the bottom edge using black beads. Come up out of the 3rd bead, string 18 black beads, and then go back through the original bead in the same direction to create a circle.

Weave through the top two rows to come out of the 7th bead and create another loop as before.

Weave through the top two rows to come out of the 11th bead and create a third loop. Tie off and weave in your ends.

Variations
Choose different colors of seed beads and your bracelet will have a very different look. When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
