Instructions:

1. Begin by cutting one 1' and one 4' length of 1mm natural hemp twine.


2. Tie the long cord about 3-4" from one end of the shorter cord. Make sure the ends of your long cord are even.


3. Braid your three strands into a traditional 3 strand braid, adding Clay River Designs plum purple short tube beads to the outside strand once every few strand passes. See more on how to do this in this video.


4. After about 2.5", tie one macrame square knot (two alternating knots) which you can learn how to do in this video. Use the longer cords as the outside cords and tie them around the shorter cord.


5. Place a Clay River Designs plum purple flat melon bead onto the center short cord.


6. Tie one macrame square knot after the melon bead.


7. Continue the traditional braiding for about another 2.5".


8. Tie all three strands into an overhand knot at the end of your braiding. Before you tighten the knot, put a dab of E6000 glue into the center to keep it secure. Pull the knot nice and tight and trim the longer ends close to the knot.


9. Use one of the cut off ends, or a new piece of twine to create a sliding knot clasp as shown in this video.


10. Place another tube bead onto each of your cord ends and then tie a knot about half an inch from the end.
