Reflecting Pool Bracelet

Project B133
Designer: Andrea Morici

NOTE: This project includes one or more items that are no longer available, despite our best efforts. We have kept this project on the site for you to use as a template or inspiration for your own creations.

The deep cobalt blue porcelain beads featured in this bracelet are painted with little spots of white, green and orange. They remind us of a lovely, tranquil koi pond.

What You'll Need

Instructions:

  1. Begin by using your flush cutters (XTL-5600) to cut a segment of Soft Flex beading wire at about ten inches long. Secure one end of the wire with a Bead Stopper (XTL-3000).

  2. Onto the wire, thread the following:
    • an 8mm cobalt blue Czech fire polish bead
    • a bead cap
    • a 14mm cobalt blue painted porcelain bead
    • a bead cap
    • an 8mm cobalt blue Czech fire polish bead
    • a large antiqued silver plated fluted bead

    • a bead cap
    • a 14mm cobalt blue painted porcelain bead

    • a bead cap
    • an 8mm cobalt blue Czech fire polish bead

  3. Onto this end of the strand, thread a crimp tube, but do not crimp it yet. Remove the toggle bar half of the FCL-7087 clasp from its package. This is the part of the clasp that will be used for this project. Keep the circle part of the clasp for use in a future project. Thread the end of the strand through the loop on the toggle bar. Thread it back through the crimp tube and down through a few of the last beads on the strand. Pull snug, leaving a little wiggle room, and crimp the tube. Trim excess wire on that end of the bracelet.

  4. Remove the Bead Stopper from the opposite end of the bracelet, and thread on a crimp tube. Do not crimp yet.

  5. Thread the end of the beading wire through the loop on the large Patera toggle clasp (FCL-7174), back through the crimp tube and down through a few of the beads on the strand. Pull snug, once again leaving a little bit of wiggle room for the clasp, and crimp the tube. Trim off excess wire.

  6. Place a silver plated stardust sparkle crimp bead cover over each of the crimp tubes and gently squeeze them shut.

  7. Now it is time to decorate the large Patera clasp. To do this, first you must lay out the daisy spacers and Swarovski flatback rhinestones on the clasp where you are going to glue them down. I arranged these embellishments in a random cluster near the loop on the clasp. This way, when you are wearing the bracelet, there will be less of a chance of the embellishments being accidentally knocked off by the toggle bar.

  8. After you have arranged the rhinestones the way you like them, individually glue each daisy spacer down using a tiny amount of E6000 on the back of each. You can use a toothpick or a piece of wire to apply the glue. Press each daisy spacer firmly in place and allow to set for a few minutes.

  9. After you have allowed the daisy spacers to set for a while, Glue each of the rhinestones on top of each daisy spacer. Allow to dry for at least twenty four hours before wearing the bracelet.
