What You'll Need

Instructions:

1. For this project, you are going to be beading around the antique brass twisted rope chain. For the kit, you are purchasing 1 foot of chain. Measure your wrist and cut the amount of chain needed. The clasp is only going to add about 1/3" to the entire length. So if you need a 7" bracelet, it is best to cut your chain down to 7".


2. Please watch the video, How to Bead Weave a Circular Brick Stitch Around a Ring. Following what you learned in the video, circular brick stitch a single row of Toho seed beads size 11/0 silver lined crystal around each of the smaller rings. Then, circular brick stitch a first row of Czech seed beads size 8/0 silver lined black diamond and a second row of Toho seed beads size 11/0 silver lined crystal around each of the larger rings.


3. A couple tips for completing the above step. DO NOT SEPARATE YOUR CHAIN LINKS - just bead them on the already joined chain. For the smaller links, cut and thread 24" of Wildfire black beading thread onto a size 10 needle. For the larger links, cut and thread 36" of Wildfire black beading thread onto a size 10 needle. When you need to tie off the thread, please watch the video here on how to do so. Finish beading all your chain links and proceed to the next step.


4. Please watch the video: How to Flat Even Count Peyote Stitch. Thread 20" of Wildfire beading thread onto a size 10 beading needle. Peyote stitch a beaded segment which is 16 columns wide and 12 rows long using size 11/0 Toho seed beads in silver lined crystal. Fold your beading in half. It will look like zipper teeth. Run your needle from side to side up along the protruding beads until you have literally "zipped" up your beadwork into a tube like shape. Weave your needle and thread back into the bead work and tie off.


5. To attach the toggle bar to the bracelet itself, thread another 12" of beading thread onto a beading needle. Work the beading thread into the beadwork of one of you end beaded rounds on your chain. The same video which shows you how to tie off the thread will also show you how to incorporate a new thread into the beadwork. Exit your beadwork through the hole on an exterior seed bead. Thread onto your needle 4 size 8/0 Czech seed beads in silver lined black diamond. Push your needle through your beaded toggle bar, just slightly off the middle center (see photo). Pull your needle and thread back down through the beaded toggle so that you exit just to the side of the beads you just strung. Add another 4 size 8/0 Czech seed beads in silver lined black diamond. Now enter through the hole in the seed bead which is next to the one you exited from originally on the beaded round. Pull snug so you have no gaps in your thread. Tie off your thread and incorporate into your beadwork.
