Instructions:
NOTE: For the focal point on this bracelet, I just glued it in place, this was much easier then stitching and the following directions will illustrate how to do this. However, you can stitch it if you like, and if you choose to do this, please do so before you glue the suede onto the brass cuff.
- Start this project by watching the video: How to Cover a Brass Cuff in Ultra Suede and Add a Decorative Edge. Based upon what you learned in the video, cover your brass cuff bracelet in green ultra suede.
-
Thread 7 feet of Nymo black thread onto a size 13 beading needle. For the edge, stitch a picot edge all the way around the cuff using 11/0 Toho seed beads in metallic iris brown and 11/0 seed beads in marbled opaque avocado pink. The pink ones should be on the tips of the picot edge and the brown beads at the base. If you would like further instruction on bead embroidering a picot edge, please see the video here.
-
For the Clay River Squirrel focal, create a faux stitched look by just whipping your thread around the edge of the focal and one of the holes 8 - 10 times and then tying a knot underneath the focal. You can place a needle onto your thread if you like or just use the tail to do this step. I would suggest cutting 15". Repeat on the other side of the focal.
-
Place E6000 on the backside of the focal. Do not put so much that it will squish out from underneath when you place it on your bracelet but enough to secure the focal. Flip over and center on your bracelet. Let dry.
-
All done!

Variations
Try a different Clay River focal to make this same pattern in different styles. When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.
Keywords: clay river, animal, woodland, natural, earth, mother nature
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
