Instructions:
NOTE: This bracelet is a joy to make but it is time consuming. Be patient and have fun!
Also, we are just going to glue all our bead embroidered pieces onto our suede cuff after they are finished. The glue holds them securely and it is a lot easier to position them where you need them after the suede has already been attached to the cuff. If you like, you can sew them on. Just reverse the order of the directions and make the bead embroidered pieces first and then cover your cuff in suede (making sure to stitch them onto the top suede piece before you glue it down).
- Start by covering your cuff bracelet in soft brown ultra suede and creating a basic beaded edge with 11/0 Toho seed beads in gold luster amethyst. You can see how to do this in the video: How to Cover a Brass Cuff in Ultra Suede and Add a Decorative Edge. Set aside once done.
-
Using E6000 glue, glue all 4 of your 13mm glass cabochons in black to Lacy's Stiff Stuff. Glue them approx 1.5" apart and make sure there is at least 3/4" room on all sides for each cabochon. Also glue your dyed green magnesite gemstone oval cabochon to the Lacy's Stiff Stuff, again leaving at least 3/4" one all sides. Let dry and then cut each one out, leaving the extra room allowances intact.
-
Thread a needle with 40" of black thread. Take one of your black glass cabochons from above and backstitch bead embroider a row of 11/0 Toho seed beads in gold luster amethyst. Next to this row, backstitch bead embroider another row using 11/0 Miyuki delicas in metallic bronze. Go back now and bead embroider a bezel row between your first bead embroidered row and your black cabochon using 15/0 Toho seed beads in metallic iris green/brown. Tie off your thread and incorporate the tail into the beadwork. Trim your Lacy's Stiff Stuff (no need to add a backing). Thread a needle with 25" of thread and bead embroider a basic beaded edge around your cabochon an beadwork using 11/0 Toho seed beads in gold luster amethyst. Tie off your thread and work it back into your beading. Make a total of two of these beaded units.

Thread a needle with 35" of thread and bead embroider a picot edge using 11/0 Miyuki delicas in metallic bronze as the beads closest to your foundation and 15/0 Toho seed beads in opaque black as the little "ruffle" beads. Tie off your thread and work
it back into your beading. Make a total of 2 of these beaded units.

For your final beaded unit, thread a needle with 70" of thread. This is the most thread I am comfortable working with at a time for bead embroidery. You might find that you need to add more thread as you go, just be aware of this. Take your gemstone cabochon and backstitch bead embroider a row of 11/0 Toho seed beads in gold luster amethyst. Next to this row, backstitch bead embroider another row using 11/0 Miyuki delicas in metallic bronze, followed by another row using 11/0 Toho seed beads in gold luster amethyst. Go back now and bead embroider a bezel row between your first bead embroidered row and your black cabochon using 15/0 Toho seed beads in opaque jet. Tie off your thread and incorporate the tail into the beadwork. Trim your Lacys Stiff Stuff (no need to add a backing). Thread a needle with 45" of thread and bead embroider a picot edge using 11/0 Miyuki delicas in metallic bronze as the beads closest to your foundation and 15/0 Toho seed beads in opaque black as th
e little "ruffle" beads. Tie off your thread and work it back into your beading.

We now have all our bead embroidered pieces ready to glue onto the suede covered cuff. Please see the photo for their placement along the cuff. Start with the middle gemstone piece and work out from it. To glue on, place E6000 on the backside of a bead embroidered unit, going almost all the way to the edge. You want enough glue for it to adhere to the suede but not so much that is squishes out the sides when you press into place. Turn over and press into place on the suede cuff. Use your fingers to apply pressure and cause the beaded piece to curve to the shape of the cuff. Keep applying pressure and holding until you feel that you can let go and it won't pull away from the curve. Add all your beaded pieces this same way. As you go, keep applying pressure to all the pieces to create a curved and flush look. Let dry fully before wearing.

May you enjoy this bracelet for years to come!

Variations
There are so many different combinations you can use to make this pretty bracelet. Try different colors of suede, cabochons, and beads. When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.
Keywords: cuff bracelet, bead embroidery, wide bracelet
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
