Instructions:
For this project we are going to be braiding a flat 10-warp kumihimo braid and are going to make it long enough to wrap 2 times around the wrist.
- Start by cutting all your cords so that each length is 36 inches long. You should now have a total of 12 cords. Remove the two cords which are your least favorite color (the ones you will want least in your design). Now you have 10 cords.
-
For the design of this bracelet, we are going to just go for a random pattern. Please watch the video on How to 10-Warp Flat Braid Kumihimo. From the video, line up your threads on the square kimihimo disc as shown and wind your bobbins. If you are completely new to Kumihimo, you might find it helpful to watch the beginning of the video on making an 8-warp round braid. It explains winding of the bobbins, lining up your thread, weighting down your braid, etc.
-
Braid 12". Without removing the braid from the disc, loosely wrap it around your wrist 2 times. Your clasp and ends will add about an inch. See if you need to braid additional length so that the bracelet will wrap around your wrist without being too snug.
-
Now, please watch the video on how to tie off and finish your Kumihimo flat braid ends. Do so on both sides of your braid and attach your cord end crimps as shown in the video.
-
Open a jump ring and link it to the loop at the end of your cord end crimp and also the loop at the base of your lobster clasp. Close the jump ring. Go to the other side of your bracelet and repeat this step except attach a 7mm jump ring instead of your lobster clasp.
-
All done!

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
