Gold Star Magnet
Project C609 Designer: Julie Bean
This magnet is just so fun and eye-catching it's hard to resist. Place on top of a great report card, drawing,
or fabulous photo of kids and friends. The magnet itself is light weight and has a strong round 3/4"
magnet behind it.

Instructions:
NOTE: Before beginning this project you will need to purchase some gold glitter which is usually readily available at craft stores (some scrapbooking stores as well). For this project we used two types of glitter - a fine iridescent gold glitter and a large gold "flake" glitter.
-
Spray your mold with mold release spray. Work it into the mold and let dry.
-
. After it has been fully mixed, add the gold glitter. Add LOTS of glitter and mix it into the resin using your stir stick. You want your resin to be "thick" with glitter.
-
Pour your resin into your star mold all the way to the top but not spilling over. Let cure for 3 full days.
-
Once 3 days has lapsed, pop your star out of the mold by pressing on the underside of the mold, in the middle of the star.
-
If there are any rough edges, sand them down with a diamond file.
-
Take one magnet and place some E6000 on one side of the magnet. Adhere this to the underside of your gold resin star. Press into place and let dry.

There are lots of fun shapes in the mold you are using for this project - try mixing more resin and maybe even picking up some different colors of glitter. You can make multiple magnets for yourself or to give away as gifts.
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
