Instructions:
- Making sure you leave the smaller links intact at the ends, cut the following using the bar and link chain:
- 4 pieces @ 2 bar links (1") long.
- 4 pieces @ 3 bar links (about 1 5/8") long.
- 4 pieces @ 4 bar links (about 2 1/4") long.
- 2 pieces @ 5 bar links (2 3/4") long.
This is for both earrings.
-
Thread the following onto an eyepin:
- a 4mm bead
- a 3 bar length chain (threading the eyepin through the small link at the end of the chain)
- another 4mm bead
- a 4 bar length chain
- 4mm bead
- 5 bar length chain
- 4mm bead
- 4 bar length
- 4mm bead
- 3 bar length
- 4mm bead.
-
After you thread the 6th bead onto your eyepin, create a simple loop at the end. Be sure to leave a little wiggle room so that the beads and the chain aren't too cramped. You want the chain to hang freely.
-
Using 10 of the 4mm beads, and 2 of the 6mm beads, thread onto headpins creating drops with simple loops. Note: this will be for both earrings.
-
Using the proper way to open and close a jump ring or a wire loop add a small bead drop to the end of each of the small links at the end of every dangling piece of chain.
-
Attach one end of each of the 2 pieces of 2 bar length chain to the loops at either end of the beaded eyepin.
-
Gather the other two ends together and attach to a single jump ring.
-
Add the larger bead drop to the jump ring between the two chains, so that it dangles down.
-
To the same jump ring, add the earring leverback.
-
Repeat these steps to create the second earring, with the exception of steps 1 and 4.
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
