- Before you begin, watch the video: How to Make a Wire Wrapped Setting Using a Wire Jig.

Use 24 gauge silver pated Artistic Craft Wire to make a wire wrapped setting for a 16mm Swarovski Crystal Rivoli in Crystal Silver Night using the technique demonstrated in the video.

Next, watch the video: How to Make a Wire Wrapped Frame. Using 20 gauge silver plated Artistic Craft Wire, make a frame using the technique in the video. Use a 1/2" wide cylindrical base to shape your frame. Instead of bringing your wire tightly around the whole circle of your base, bring the ends around until they meet, making a teardrop shape. See photo for details on what shape to form. Complete the wire wrapped loop at the top of the frame as in the video.

Gently bend back slightly three adjacent loops on the wire wrapped setting you made for the crystal Rivoli. Slide the bottom of the frame you made into the space between the Rivoli and the loops. Bring the frame to rest just under the front edge of the Rivoli and press the loops back into place.

Flip your piece over and apply a bit of E6000 to the back side of the wire setting where the frame is attached. Use your fingers or a toothpick to make sure the glue is touching the Rivoli, the setting, and the frame. Wipe away any excess glue, making sure to keep it off of the bottom edge and front of your piece. Allow glue to dry for at least an hour before moving on.

Use a pair of chain nose pliers to gently open the loop on a silver plated fish hook style earring hook. Hang the earring from the loop on the frame and close the loop on the earring hook.

Allow the glue to dry for at least 24 hours before wearing.

Variations
Play with the finishes and colors of the hardware, wire, and crystals to change the look of these earrings.
When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
