Instructions:
Remember to double these instructions to create your matched pair of earrings.
- Before you begin, watch the video: How to Make a Mother's Necklace. Follow the instructions in the beginning of the video through the stamping and filling in of the letters. Once the video moves on to dapping, you do not need to finish watching for the purposes of this project.
-
Using the technique demonstrated in the video, stamp the little owl onto a solid copper flower stamping blank. Then, use a black permanent marker to fill in the image as shown in the video.
-
Use a pair of 1.25mm metal hole punch pliers to punch a hole at the top of your stamping blank above your owl stamping.
-
Cut a 1" length of antique copper plated chain.
-
Insert a copper head pin through a khaki AB Swarvoski crystal rondelle and use a pair of wire looping pliers to create a wrapped wire loop above the bead.
-
Open a 4mm copper jump ring and use it to attach the end link of the chain to the wrapped wire loop on the bead.
-
Open the loop on an antique copper earring hook and slide on the owl stamping and the free end of the chain. Make sure that the owl is in front, facing out, and close the earring loop.

Variations
Use components with a different finish and crystals to match and get a different feel to your earrings. When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.
Keywords: owl, metal stamping, flower, copper, green
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
