Instructions:
Remember to double these instructions to make your matched pair of earrings.
- Before you begin, watch the video: How to Make Wire Wrapped Components for the Desert Shores Earrings. This video will show you how to make the two beaded components used in this project.
-
Make the two components as shown in the video using 24 and 18 gauge silver plated non tarnish craft wire, an 8mm green turquoise round bead, and a 10mm blue turquoise round bead.
-
Use a pair of medium Wubbers bail making pliers and some of the 18 gauge wire to create two jump rings using the 3mm side of the pliers as demonstrated in this video.
-
Then, use the 20 gauge wire, large bail making pliers, round nose pliers, a bench block, and a chasing hammer to create your own earring hook as demonstrated in this video. Hammer the front side of your earring hook flat if desired for decoration.
-
Use your jump rings to attach your earring components together at the swirls.
-
Open the loop on your earring hook and hang the earring by the top loop.

Keywords: wire wrapped, gemstone, spiral, turquoise, silver
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
