Instructions:
- Follow the instructions below twice, to make two earrings.
-
Take one headpin and place the following items on it, from bottom to top:
- one delicate flower bead cap
- one lampwork bead (large side down)
- two cone flower bead caps (large side down).
You may only want to use one bead cap up top, but we like the look of layering two.
-
Make a wrapped wire loop in the headpin. The loop should be no more than 5mm in diameter, and should sit snugly at the top of the cone bead caps.
-
Trim excess wire. If necessary, use chain nose pliers to tuck in the end of the wire.
-
Hang the bead assembly from a kidney wire. We also carry 2 inch kidney wires if you want longer ones.
-
In our example we have slightly bent back the little tail of the kidney wire below the catch of the earring for better security of the earring. You may also want to pinch closed the loop of the earring from which your bead assembly hangs for additional securing of the dangle.
You can make these earrings in a whole assortment of colors. Use any of our blown glass drop beads and choose from bead caps and kidney wires in silver plate, gold plate, and vintaj brass to create earrings in a variety of looks.
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
