Nido Paloma Earrings

Adorable little pearl "eggs" nestled within antiqued brass nests are being watched over by doting mother
doves. Tiny turquoise and red flower accents make these earrings even cuter.

Instructions:
- Remember to double the instructions to make both earrings. Begin by cutting a length of wire at about a foot and a half long.

Bend the wire at a ninety degree angle, roughly three inches down from one end.

Onto the longer end of the wire, thread three pearls.

Bring the end of the wire around to where the wire is bent, and wrap the long end around the short end one time, making the eggs one continual loop.

Continue to wrap around this loop, creating the "body" of the nest, about ten times, or however many times you think looks good.

Bring the wire behind the nest and up through the space between the eggs and the nest, directly in the middle of two of the eggs. Wrap the wire around that bundle of nest twice, as pictured.

Bring the wire up between two more eggs and do the same thing.

Finally, bring the wire up through the two eggs that are near the extra three inch piece of wire protruding from the top. Wrap the wire around that part of the nest a couple of times, and then tightly wrap it around the three inch piece of wire a couple of times. Trim that part of the wire off, leaving the three inch protruding piece.

With the remaining three inch piece of wire, create a wrapped wire loop. Trim off excess wire.

Thread the dove bead onto an eyepin, and create a simple wire loop on the other end. Trim off excess wire.

Open the loop on both ends of the dove bead, the way you would open a jump ring. Thread the top loop through the loop on the earring hook, and the loop on the bottom through the loop on the nest charm. Close both loops again.

Onto a headpin, thread a seed bead and a tiny glass flower bead. Create a simple wire loop and trim off excess wire.

Open that loop and thread it through the loop on the nest charm. Close loop once more.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
