To make these earrings, please watch the video: How to do Circular Brick Stitch Bead Weaving around a Bead
-
Using the skills you learned in the video, make the following:
-
Cut a 2 foot length of Nymo nylon beading thread and thread a size 12 beading needle onto it. Around a 3mm Swarovski round faux pearl in bright gold, brick stitch one row of size 11/0 Czech seed beads in antique cream pearl and another row on top of it in 11/0 Czech seed beads in light gold supra metallic. Tie off your thread after this second row. Repeat this entire step with another 2 feet of thread to create 2 of these rounds.
-
Cut a 3 foot length of Nymo nylon beading thread and thread a size 12 beading needle onto it. Around an 8mm Swarovski round faux pearl in white, brick stitch 1 row of 11/0 Czech seed beads in light gold supra metallic. After that row is complete, brick stitch a second row in 11/0 Czech seed beads in antique cream pearl. Tie off your thread after this second row.
-
Repeat the last step but use 4 feet of thread, and instead of tying off the thread after the 2nd row, brick stitch a 3rd row in 11/0 Czech seed beads in light gold supra metallic. After this third row, add a decorative beaded edge like the one illustrated in our How to Add a Decorative Beaded Edge to Bead Weaving video. Tie off your thread.
-
We are going to now sew the 4 beaded circles together. Please look at the photo to see how they are placed: the largest with the decorative edge on the bottom, the other round with the 8mm pearl above it, and one of the small circles with the 3mm bright gold faux pearl above that one. Thread several feet of Nymo nylon beading thread onto a needle and going through the beads you have already woven (and following the same direction of the stitching you already did) sew the edge of the first two rounds together (both with an 8mm pearl center). Just sew up through an edge bead on one of the rounds and then up through an edge bead on the other round. Up and down, in and out, try pulling tight so that your edges come together. Stitch back and forth several times. Secure the two units together and then weave your thread in and tie off. Do this same process to the smaller circle with the 3mm pearl center and the round with the 8mm pearl center (the one without the decorative edge that you just sewed to the other 8mm round with the decorative edge).
-
At this point, you should have 1 small round left (brick stitched around a 3mm Swarovski round faux pearl in bright gold). For this round unit, we are going to place it over the area where we sewed together our two rounds with the 8mm pearls in the center. See the photo please. To sew this on, thread a needle onto approx 1 1/2 feet of beading thread. Going through the holes in the seed beads, sew this round directly onto the rounds below it. Only a few stitches are needed, and once you are done, tie off your thread.
-
The final step is easy. Just place a dab of E6000 onto the glue-on tab of your earring post and glue it to the backside of your top round. Press into place and let dry. Once dry, place an earring back onto the post.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
