Spring Leap Earrings

A petite leaping frog charm dangles below an aged looking filigree chandelier drop in these fetching earrings. The use of Vintaj patinas adds depth and dimension to these easy-to-make earrings.

Instructions:

1. From what you learned in the video, paint layer of jade and moss patina on your Vintaj Pinnacle chandelier drop. Make the two paint colors look "splotchy". Before they dry, dab with a paper towel to remove some of the patina and to create a more modeled look. Let dry. Looking at the photo, paint the middle diamond pattern using the agate color patina. Let dry.


2. Take your Vintaj relief block and lightly sand the surface to give it a weathered look and to expose some of the brass below.


3. Now take your Vintaj teensie round frog charm. Paint a light coat of agate patina over the entire front. If need be, blot the surface with a paper towel to remove excess patina. Now, looking at the photo, paint the little frog and reeds with moss and jade patinas. Let dry.


4. Take a 1" eye pin and place a Swarovski vintage rose 4mm bicone onto it. Create a simple wire loop after the bead. Open one of the simple wire loops and attach it to the loop at the top of the frog charm. Close the loop. Open the loop on the other side of the bicone and attach it to the bottom loop on your pinnacle drop. Close the loop.


5. Open the loop at the base of your earring hook the same way you would open a jump ring and attach this to the loop at the top of your pinnacle drop. Close the loop.


6. All done!

Variations

When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.
