Instructions:
Remember to double these instructions to create a matched pair of hair combs.
- Start with a length of silver plated non-tarnish 24 gauge craft wire about 2-3 feet long. This will be more than you need, but it's better to be safe than to run out mid-wrap!
-
Wrap one end of the wire around the end of a silver plated hair comb a few times, making it secure, and trimming the end if necessary.
-
Bring your wire between the first two teeth of the hair comb. String a silver plated 8.5mm round bead frame with a 4mm round turquoise crystal bead in the middle onto the wire.
-
Pull the beads down to the base of the comb and wrap the wire snugly around. Don't line the beads up with the top edge of the comb, make sure you hold the beads centered on the top of the comb as you wrap them.
-
Wrap the wire around the next three teeth of the comb and then attach a 14mm silver plated round bead frame with a 8mm round crystal dorado (2x) bead in the middle between the next two teeth.
-
Skip two spaces and attach another 8.5mm bead frame and bead. Then skip two spaces and attach a second 14mm bead frame and bead. Finally, attach the third 8.5mm bead frame and bead between the last two teeth on the comb.
-
Wrap the end of your wire around the end of the comb several times to secure it. Trim it off and make sure it is pressed firmly in so that it's not scratchy.

Variations
Choose a gold plated comb with beads and frames in matching colors to give your combs a different feel. When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
