Instructions:
- Begin by cutting a 3' length of .006" white Wildfire and threading it through a size 12 beading needle.
-
With size 11/0 opaque white chalk Delica beads, make the first row of the pennant shape by completing 11 rows of with two beads per row.
-
Continue to weave the pennant with white beads by working multiple drop brick stitch using two beads per stitch. Do not make any increases, letting the rows decrease by one stitch each row.
-
Work 10 rows of brick stitch, ending with a row of two stitches. Tie off and weave in your thread ends.
-
Repeat steps 1-4 to make 4 more pennants.
-
To stitch the letters onto the pennants, cut a 2' length of Wildfire and thread it through the needle. With the size 11/0 silver lined red Delica beads, bead embroider the letters on top of the pennant with a backstitch. Don't begin with a knot in the end of your thread. Just leave a tail to finish off later.
-
Your letters may look wobbly at first. When you've embroidered the whole letter, bring your thread back up to the red beads at the start of the letter and bring it through all of the beads in the letter to pull them smooth. Then bring your thread through to the back of the pennant and tie off and weave in the ends.
-
Repeat steps 6 and 7 to stitch the rest of the letters and the heart onto the pennants.
-
Cut an 18" length of red satin Rattail cord.
-
Cut a 2' length of Wildfire and thread it through the needle. Bring the needle up through the two beads all the way to one side of the top of the pennant.
-
Pick up 6 white beads, and bring the needle back down through the two beads that you started from. Before you pull this loop tight, thread the end of your satin cord through the loop. Then pull the thread tight. Tie off and weave in both ends of the thread.
-
Repeat steps 10 and 11 on the other end of the top of the pennant, and on both ends of each of the remaining pennants. As you attach the pennants to the cord, make sure you put the letters in the correct order for the word you are spelling.
-
Attach a silver plated 2 mm fancy crimp bead to each end of the satin cord.
-
Use a 5 mm 18 gauge silver plated jump ring to attach one end of the 14 mm silver plated pewter scroll heart toggle clasp to each of the crimp bead loops.

Variations
Change the word "love" to whatever word or name you'd like, and use different colored cord and beads to change the style.
When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
