Instructions:
Be sure to customize the number of blanks, names, and rhinestone colors to the children of the mother that you are making your necklace for.
- Before you begin, watch the video: How to Make a Name Stamped Mother's Necklace. Follow the instructions in the beginning of the video through the stamping and filling in of the letters. Once the video moves on to dapping, you do not need to finish watching for the purposes of this project.
-
Using the technique demonstrated in the video, stamp the names of the children onto 19 mm antique silver plated round stamping blank. Then, use a black permanent marker to fill in the letters as shown in the video.
-
Next, you will need to affix a size 34ss Swarovski crystal flatback rhinestone onto each blank. Apply a small amount of E6000 glue to the back of the first rhinestone using a toothpick or scrap of craft wire. Press the rhinestone onto the center of the blank for the correct name. Repeat with the rest of the rhinestones and blanks. Allow the glue to dry for at least an hour before moving on.
-
Use a pair of flush cutters to cut an 18" length of antique silver plated 3.5 mm round rolo chain.
-
Use an antique silver plated 6 mm, 20 gauge jump ring to hang one of the name tags onto the chain. Repeat this process to hang the rest of the name tags onto the chain.
-
Use an antique silver plated 4 mm, 21 gauge jump ring to attach a 12 mm antique silver plated lobster clasp to one end of your chain.
-
Attach another 4 mm jump ring to the other end of your chain.
-
Allow the glue to dry for at least 24 hours before wearing.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
