The Jurassic Necklace
Project N109 Designer: Andrea Morici
Lava, Amber, and is that a fossilized T-Rex tooth? Or could it be a perfectly preserved Sabertooth Tiger
claw? Either way, this prehistoric necklace is great for a man or a woman!
NOTE: This project includes one or more items that are no longer available, despite our best efforts. We have kept this project on the site for you to use as a template or inspiration for your own creations.

What You'll Need
|
Instructions:
- Cut two pieces of the waxed cotton cord seven inches long.
-
Dab a small amount of E6000 glue on each end of the two pieces of cord, insert each end into the crimp bead cord ends and crimp the center of each cord end. To do this we recommend using super-fine chain nose pliers. Set these aside to dry (it will take about six minutes for the glue to set, but full drying takes about twenty-four hours).
-
Cut a piece of beading wire at two feet long and secure one end with a bead stopper.
-
Thread the following on to the bead wire: one 10mm round lava bead, six amber chips, one flat square lava bead, six amber chips, one 10mm round lava bead, six amber chips, one 10mm round lava bead, six amber chips, the black agate tooth/claw pendant, six amber chips, one 10mm round lava bead, six amber chips, one 10mm round lava bead, six amber chips, one flat square lava bead, six amber chips, and one more 10mm round lava bead.
-
When you get to the end of the strand add a copper crimp bead, but do not crimp yet.
-
Thread the end of the wire through one of the loops at the end of one of the pieces of black waxed cotton cord, and back through the small copper crimp bead. Tighten the strand, and crimp the crimp bead. Trim off excess wire on that side.
-
On the other end of the strand remove the bead stopper and add a small copper crimp bead, but do not crimp yet.
-
Thread this end of the wire strand through one of the loops at the end of the other piece of waxed cotton cord, and back through the small copper crimp bead. Pull the strand tight and crimp the crimp bead. Trim of excess wire.
-
Place a copper crimp bead cover over each of the crimp beads and gently close.
-
To the other two loops on the ends of the waxed cotton cord, add one jump ring each.
-
Add one loop of the s-clasp to one of the jump rings, and add the other loop on the s-clasp to the other jump ring.
