Instructions:
- Begin by threading the following onto a headpin:
- a 12mm filigree open leaf bead cap
- a 28mm blown glass bead
- an 8mm scalloped flower bead cap
-
Create a wrapped loop on the headpin and trim off excess wire. Set this aside.
-
Cut a piece of beading wire at fifteen inches long and secure one end of it with a Bead Stopper.
-
Thread the following onto the wire:
- a 2.5mm round gold bead
- a 4mm round gold bead
- a white seed bead
- a 2.5mm round gold bead
- a green jade bead
- a 2.5mm round gold bead

- a heishe spacer
- a 7mm bead cap
- a 13mm red blown glass bead
- a 7mm bead cap
- a 4mm round gold bead
- a white seed bead
- a 4mm round gold bead
- a green jade bead
- a 4mm round gold bead
- a white seed bead
- a 4mm round gold bead.
-
At this point, thread the large 28mm blown glass with a wrapped loop onto your wire.
-
Thread the other half of the strand exactly like the first, only in reverse order.
-
When you get to the end thread a crimp bead, but do not crimp it yet.
-
Thread the end of the wire through a large closed jump ring and back through the crimp bead, and crimp it down.
-
Remove the bead stopper from the other end and repeat the last two steps.
-
Cut both pieces of your silk ribbon in half using a sharp pair of scissors.
-
Through both jump rings on either side of the necklace thread a green and a red ribbon. Fold in half.
-
Trim both sides of the ribbon so that the red and green are equal lengths and so both sides of the necklace are equal lengths.
-
Tightly roll the ends of the ribbons and insert them into a pinch crimp cord end (one on either side).
-
Using a pair of nylon jaw pliers or smooth chain nose pliers, gently pinch the cord ends closed. To make sure the ribbons are secure, you may add a dab of adhesive, such as E6000.
-
To each of the loops on the crimp ends, add a small jump ring.
-
Add one half of the magnetic clasp to one of the jump rings, and the other half to the other jump ring.
You may want to make your necklace shorter. To do this, either just cut the ribbon to a shorter length or forego the magnetic clasp and simply tie the ribbon into a pretty and decorative bow.
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
