Carnulean Necklace

Instructions:
- Cut one piece of Soft Flex at sixteen inches long, and one piece at eight inches long. Secure one end of each with a Bead Stopper. Onto the sixteen inch piece, thread the following:
- a bead cap
- an 8mm Swarovski
- a 9mm wood bead
- an 8mm carnelian
- and another bead cap
Repeat this sequence a total of twelve times. Secure the end and set aside.

Utilizing the same bead sequence, repeat this stringing pattern on the eight inch piece of wire a total of five times.

Thread two crimp beads onto the end, but do not crimp yet. Thread the end through a jump ring and back through the crimp beads, and pull tight.

Crimp the beads and trim off excess wire.

Gently open the jump ring and remove it from the Soft Flex loop.

Onto the loop, string two natural brass spacer beads, so that they cover the crimp beads. Thread the jump ring back through the Soft Flex loop and close it once more.

Repeat the last four steps on each end of the two pieces of Soft Flex.

Onto the jump ring at one end of the longer piece of Soft Flex, add the "hook" end of the clasp.

Onto the jump ring at one end of the shorter piece of Soft Flex, add the "eye" end of the clasp.

Cut a piece of Artistic Wire at about three feet long.

Thread an 8mm carnelian bead onto the wire, about four inches down from the end.

Place the carnelian bead in the center of the brass filigree pendant, and hold it there while you poke both ends of the wire down into the filigree.

Pull the bead snugly against the filigree, and wrap the shorter piece of wire around the longer in the back of the pendant.

Near to where the carnelian bead is attached, bring the long wire back up through the filigree.

Onto this wire, string nine 4mm Swarovski beads. Encircle the carnelian bead with the nine Swarovskis, and bring the wire back down through the filigree in the same spot that you brought it up through.

About one 4mm bead length away from the spot where you last brought your wire down, bring it back up through the filigree, in between the carnelian bead and the row of Swarovskis. Wrap it around the wire between two of the Swarovski beads, and push it through to the back side of the filigree once more. Repeat this motion, essentially "sewing" the row of 4mm Swarovski beads onto the filigree.

When you have wrapped all the way around and back to the beginning, thread the wire back down into the filigree and wrap it tightly against itself, making sure to burnish down any sharp ends so that it won't scratch the wearer.

Attach this pendant to the necklace by attaching two jump rings to either side of the filigree, between the petals and directly across from one another.

Attach each of these jump ring pairings to each of the jump rings at the ends of the necklace.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
