This gorgeous necklace showcases a very unique Gustav Klimt-esque ceramic focal bead, hand painted with a stylized golden eye.

What You'll Need

Instructions:

  1. To create the links of this necklace, you must first cut thirty-seven pieces of 22 gauge Artistic Wire at two inches long each.

  2. Make a simple loop at one end of each piece of wire, essentially turning them into eyepins.

  3. Onto thirty-one of these eyepins, thread a 6mm x 2mm gold plated flower bead cap and a 6mm round wood jasper bead. Make another simple loop and trim off excess wire. Set these aside.

  4. On the remaining six eyepins, thread six green kyanite stick beads; two matching small, two matching medium, and two matching large. Make another simple loop on each, and trim off excess wire. Set these aside.

  5. Cut a piece of wire at four inches long, and create a wrapped loop at one end. Thread the ceramic focal bead onto the piece of wire and make another wrapped wire loop. Trim off excess wire.

  6. Open the loop at the bead cap end of one of the wood jasper bead segments, using the same method you would use to open a jump ring. Thread this loop through the wrapped loop at the top of the ceramic eye focal pendant and close it once more.

  7. Link that wood jasper bead to one of the two large kyanite segments. To the large kyanite, add another wood jasper bead segment, this time with the bead cap facing away. Next in the chain is one of the medium-sized kyanite segments, followed by another wood jasper segment, bead cap end first. Add one of the small kyanite segments to this last wood jasper bead. For the rest of this half of the necklace, link together twelve more wood jasper bead segments, alternating which direction the bead caps face.

  8. Create the other half of the necklace by making a mirror image of the first half, starting with the connecting the fist wood jasper bead segment to the top loop on the ceramic pendant.

  9. When you have completed both sides of the necklace, use a 6mm jump ring to connect both halves of the toggle clasp to either end.

  10. Open the loop at the non-bead cap end of the last remaining wood jasper bead, and thread it through the wrapped loop at the bottom of the ceramic pendant. Close the loop once more.

  11. Finally, find the largest kyanite bead out of the strand. Cut a length of wire about three inches long. Thread this wire through the large kyanite bead, and bend both sides upward so that they meet in the middle. Create a wrapped loop on one end of the wire, and use the other end to wrap around the the loop end, until the two wrappings meet in the middle. Trim off excess wire.

  12. Open the loop at the bottom of the wood jasper bead hanging from the ceramic pendant.

  13. Thread this loop through the wrapped loop on the large kyanite bead, and close once again.
