The Onna Necklace
Project N165 Designer: Andrea Morici
A porcelain focal bead featuring an antique-looking Asian image is the central piece in this necklace. It is
flanked on either side by an interesting mixture of beads and iridescent stick pearls.
NOTE: This project includes one or more items that are no longer available, despite our best efforts. We have kept this project on the site for you to use as a template or inspiration for your own creations.

What You'll Need
|
Instructions:
- Begin by threading the porcelain focal bead onto a headpin, and creating a small wrapped wire loop at the end. Set this aside.
-
Cut a piece of Soft Flex at two feet long, and secure one end with a Bead Stopper.
-
Onto the Soft Flex, thread the following:
- nine seed beads, a 2.5mm brass bead, one seed bead
- a 3mm hyacinth Swarovski bicone
- one seed bead
- a antiqued silver plated diamond cut out 4mm bead
- one seed bead
- a 4.5mm sunstone bead
- one seed bead
- an antiqued silver plated diamond cut out 4mm bead
- one seed bead
- a 3mm hyacinth Swarovski bicone
- one seed bead
- and a 2.5mm brass bead.
Repeat this sequence a total of three times, then thread:
- nine seed beads
- a 4.5mm sunstone bead
- one seed bead
- an antiqued silver plated diamond cut out 4mm bead
- one seed bead
- a 3mm hyacinth Swarovski bicone
- one seed bead
- a 2.5mm brass bead
- one seed bead
- a 4.5mm sunstone bead
- one seed bead
- and a yellow-gold cultured stick pearl.
Repeat this sequence, inverting the segment of beads before the stick pearl, a total of three times. Repeat this sequence one more time, this time with no stick pearl. Finally, thread the porcelain pendant onto the Soft Flex.
-
From the pendant on, string the other half of the necklace as a mirror image of the first half.
-
Thread a crimp bead onto either end of the necklace, but do not crimp yet.
-
Thread the ends through a split jump ring, back through the crimp beads, pull tight, and crimp.
-
Add each half of the barrel clasp to the split jump ring on either end of the necklace.
-
Add a crimp bead cover over each of the crimp beads, and gently squeeze them closed. Trim off excess wire.
