Instructions:
- Begin by using your Flush Cutters (XTL-5600) to carefully trim the loop off of the Vintaj natural brass beaded edge bezel setting. File down any sharp edges with a needle file (XTL-0102).
-
Gently pry open the four prongs on the bezel, slightly, using your chain nose pliers. Place one of the jade cabochons in the bezel setting. While holding the cabochon in place, carefully press the four prongs down. To ensure that the cabochon is being securely held by the prongs, roll them against a smooth, hard surface such as a bench block (XTL-6091). Set this aside.
-
Thread an 8mm green fire polish bead and an antiqued brass bead cap onto a headpin. Create a simple wire loop and trim off excess wire.
-
Open the loop at the top of the headpin, using the same method you would use to open a jump ring. Thread this loop through the hole at the tip of one of the narrow ends of the red filigree stamping. Close the loop once more.
-
Open a small oval jump ring and use it to attach the opposite end of the red filigree stamping to the antiqued brass drop bail. Close the jump ring once more.
-
Spread a thin layer of E6000 adhesive onto the back of the outer rim of the brass bezel setting using a toothpick, and press it firmly onto the very center of the red oval filigree stamping. Wipe off any excess glue from the back of the red filigree stamping with a piece of paper towel. Set this pendant aside to dry for at least a few hours.
-
Cut a piece of the dark green silk ribbon to about sixteen and a half inches long. Dab a tiny amount of E6000 adhesive on the inside of two antiqued brass ribbon crimps. Insert each end of the silk ribbon into each of the ribbon crimps, and fold over the crimp sides with a pair of chain nose pliers.
-
Thread the ribbon through the bail at the top of the pendant.
-
Open two oval jump rings. Use one of the jump rings to attach one half of the toggle clasp to one of the ribbon crimps, and use the other jump ring to attach the other half of the toggle clasp to the other ribbon crimp. Close both jump rings once more.
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
