Instructions:
- Follow the directions in this to create your kumihimo braid, and to attach the two end caps. Our braid is approximately twenty three inches long, but feel free to make your necklace as long or as short as you'd like.
-
Once you have your braid complete, and the two end caps with loops glued into place, set aside to dry. While the end caps are drying, move onto making the pendant.
-
To make the pendant, first make a series of grape dangles by threading various sized druks onto headpins, creating a on each, and trimming off excess wire. You will need to make nine of these using the 8mm druks, nine using the 6mm druks, and ten using the 4mm druks. Set these dangles aside as you create the center wire for your bunch of grapes.
-
Cut a piece of 20 gauge brass wire at about five inches long and create a simple wire loop at one end. Thread a 4mm druk onto the wire.
-
Open a 6mm round brass . Onto the jump ring, thread nine of the 4mm druk dangles. Close the jump ring again and thread the entire ring, dangles and all, on the 20 gauge wire.
-
Onto the 20 gauge wire, thread eight of the 6mm druk dangles, a single 8mm druk (not a dangle) and nine of the 8mm druk dangles.
-
Make a wrapped wire loop at the top of your "bunch of grapes" and trim off excess wire.
-
Open a 6mm brass jump ring and thread it through the hole at the top of the lucite leaf. Close the jump ring again.
-
Open a large 15mm brass jump ring. Thread it through the loop at the top of the bunch of grapes, and through the jump ring on the lucite leaf. Close the large jump ring again.
-
Thread the entire kumihimo braid through the large jump ring.
-
Use two additional 6mm jump rings to join each half of the toggle clasp to each end of the kumihimo braid.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
