All We Need is Love Necklace
Project N507 Designer: Kathy Mannix
Simply beautiful, Amore says it all!
Instructions:
- Start with the stamping blank disc (PND-5852) by placing it on your steel bench block (XTL-6092) with the hole at the top. Center the black filigree heart (PND-00104) on top of the blank. Slide the heart down until the bottom tip is touching the bottom of the blank (see photo).
-
Mark a line on the blank across the very top of the heart with a permanent marker. Now mark a small "X" at the center of the line with the same permanent marker. This will help you with letter placement. Take the heart off and set aside for now.
-
Pick up the lowercase letter "o" from your letter stamp set (XTL-0717). You will always start at the very center and work your way to the left and to the right. Set the letter "o" stamp on top of the "x" you made with the permanent marker. Make sure stamp is straight, perpendicular to the steel bench block and perpendicular to the metal surface to be stamped. Press the stamp lightly onto the metal. Strike the stamp with your hammer. Make sure the hammer head comes down straight, parallel to the bench block, striking the stamp dead center. Strike the letter about 2-3 times without moving it. Repeat these steps with all of the letter stamps until you spell out "Amore". Use your permanent black marker to fill in the letters you just stamped. Immediately wipe off excess marker with a paper towel or cloth. This will also wipe off the line you made earlier.
-
Pick up the black filigree heart again and dab a very small amount of glue onto the back (XTL-1050) using a toothpick. Place the heart onto the blank, making sure to center it below the stamped lettes "Amore". (Remember where you placed it before). You will have about 5 minutes to work with the heart before the glue starts to dry. For a maximum strength bond, allow 24-72 hours for complete curing.
-
Now you are ready to put the antiqued silver plated filigree (FCO-5024) piece on top of the heart. Use your chain nose pliers to bend over the sides of the filigree at a 90 degree angle, about 1/8th of an inch. Slide the filigree over the heart and the stamping blank, making sure you have it centered and aligned horizontally. Use your chain nose pliers to press down the sides so the filigree stays in place (see photo) You can also use your hammer to tap down the side pieces on the back for extra reinforcement.
-
Link on an open jump ring (FJR-3957) to the top center hole of the stamping blank. Cut the chain to your preferred length (I used 18 inches). Link an open jump ring to one end of the chain and then close. Now use the other open jump ring to link onto the lobster clasp and to the other end of the chain. Close the jump ring. Your pendant is finished and ready to wear.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
