Instructions:
- For this project, you can watch the video on How to Make a Gold Filled Charm Necklace or follow the instructions below:
-
Begin by deciding what length you want your necklace to be and cut the 2 feet of chain to that length. For this particular project, I chose 18". Use your flush cutters to cut the chain. Since this chain has long and short links, make sure that your end chain links are of the same length.
-
Thread the chain through the jump ring connected to your fleur de lis gold filled charm. Position it in the middle of your chain.
-
Onto a split ring, slide one of the end chain links and also the hole at base of your gold filled lobster clasp. Slide both of these so that they are completely secure on your split ring.
-
Take a second split ring and slide the end chain link on the other side of your necklace and a closed gold filled jump ring onto it. Position these so that they too are both secure on the split ring.
-
All done! So easy yet so beautiful.
Variations:
Pick out a charm which has a personal meaning to you or the person who will be receiving this lovely gift. There are many gold-filled charms for your to choose from including butterflies, birds, horseshoes, crosses, hearts, and more!
When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.
|
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
