Urban Chic Necklace

This necklace is a play on shapes as it goes from larger SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls to smaller ones and then back to larger ones again. Accenting the faux pearls, and adding a structural element to the design, are black finish hourglass-shaped strand spacers by Tierracast.

Instructions:
- Start by cutting a 30 inch piece of black beading wire. Place a bead stopper 3 inches from the end.

Place onto the beading wire:
- 1 gunmetal crimp bead
- 24 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 3mm in opaque jade green
- 7 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 4mm in opaque jade green
- 13 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 5mm in opaque jade green

Next place onto your strand:
- 1 Tierracast black finish pewter 2-hole hourglass strand spacer
- 1 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearl 5mm in opaque jade green.
Repeat this sequence 15 times (so you will have a total of 16 of these 2-hole strand spacers with a 5mm bead between each strung onto your strand).

Next place onto your strand:
- 12 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 5mm in opaque jade green
- 7 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 4mm in opaque jade green
- 24 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 3mm in opaque jade green
- 1 gunmetal crimp bead
Place another bead stopper on this end.

Cut another 30 inch piece of black beading wire. Place a bead stopper 3 inches from the end.

Place onto the beading wire:
- 1 gunmetal crimp bead
- 18 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 4mm in opaque jade green
- 4 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 5mm in opaque jade green
- 12 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 6mm in opaque jade green

Now string your beading wire through the 2nd hole of one of the end Tierracast black finish pewter 2-hole hourglass strand spacers already strung on your first beaded strand (the one with bead stoppers now on each end). Next string on another SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearl 6mm in opaque jade green. Repeat this step until you have a total of 4 6mm faux pearls between the strand spacers. Next string a total of 7 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 8mm in opaque jade green between the strand spacers. See photo. Now string on 4 more SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 6mm in opaque jade green between the strand spacers. Now string 12 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 6mm in opaque jade green, 4 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 5mm in opaque jade green, 18 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls 4mm in opaque jade green, and a gunmetal crimp bead. Place a bead stopper at the end.

Lay your necklace out on the table so that you have the curve down at the bottom and the two strands of beads on each side laid out flat, untangled, and ready to be secured onto your strand reducers. See photo.

Take one of your Tierracast black finish pewter 2 strand reducer bead bars, remove the bead stopper from one of your strand ends, loop the beading wire through one of the bottom holes on the strand reducer, go back through the crimp bead and several beads next to it, and then crimp the crimp bead. Cut of excess beading wire with your flush cutters. Repeat this step for the other beaded strand on this side of the necklace, securing it to the other hole at the bottom of the strand reducer.

Go to the other side of your necklace and repeat this step, but be cautious to pull your wires snug so that there are no gaps between your beads and they form a nice curve down at the bottom where the Tierracast bead spacers are.

Almost done!

Cut a 22" piece of black beading wire. Place a bead stopper 3 inches from the end. Place onto this beading wire 1 gunmetal crimp bead, 1 3mm faux pearl, 1 6mm faux pearl, 1 Tierracast black finish pewter 4mm faceted cube spacer bead, another 6mm faux pearl, another 4mm cube spacer bead, 2 6mm faux pearls, another 4mm spacer bead, 5 6mm faux pearls, a 6mm cube spacer bead, 18 8mm faux pearls, a 6mm cube spacer bead, 5 6mm faux pearls, another 4mm spacer bead, 2 6mm faux pearls, another 4mm cube spacer bead, another 6mm faux pearl, another 4mm faceted cube spacer bead, a 6mm faux pearl, a 3mm faux pearl, and a gunmetal crimp bead.

Secure the wire end to the top loop of your strand reducer via the crimp bead. Crimp the bead. Go to the other side of your strand, remove the bead stopper, and secure this end to the other strand reducer (again via the crimp bead attaching it to the top loop). Crimp the bead and cut off any excess wire with flush cutters.

Choose a different color of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystal faux pearls for a variations on this pattern.
When substituting in items, pay attention to sizes and styles to make sure all your pieces will fit together.
