What You'll Need
|
Instructions:
- Using your fingers, gently shape the diamond trellis filigree stamping around the ring sizing mandrel at the size of your choosing. It doesn't have to be exact as the ring will be adjustable.
-
Position the clover petal filigree stamping on the widest part of the ring with the petals pointing at a forty-five degree angle.
-
Holding the two pieces together with one hand, begin by threading the wire through the innermost holes of the two filigree pieces.
-
With the wire end protruding out of the top of the ring, wrap in a square pattern, weaving in and out of the four innermost holes on both filigree stampings. Stop wrapping when you feel like the two pieces are tightly secured. Trim off excess wire.
-
Center the cabochon on the clover petal filigree stamping, making sure the the four petals are protruding evenly at a forty-five degree angle from behind the cabochon.
-
With your fingers, gently and evenly press the petals down, encompassing the cabochon.
-
If the stamping needs further shaping and is becoming too work-hardened to manipulate with your fingers, we recommend using a bench block to gently push the edges down against, but be careful not to press too hard and risk damaging the cabochon.
