Instructions:
- Spread out all the charms in your Vintaj "beach fun" sampler pack. We are going to be applying Gilders Paste to each of the charms. I prefer to apply the paste with my finger. Watch this on how to apply the paste without a brush. Following what you learned in the video, apply Gilders Paste in Patina and African Bronze to all your charms. I chose to use the patina color alone for the star fish and sea horses, then for the other charms, I blended the two colors together to create a softer look. It is totally up to you as to how much color you want to add.
-
Let the Gilders Paste dry and then seal the charms with a clear matte finish acrylic spray such as what Mod Podge puts out. You can find such an item at most craft and art stores. I recommend 3 light coats.
For the bracelet:
-
To make all the dangles hanging off your charm bracelet, we are going to be using 1.5" antique brass head pins and . Onto one head pin, place 1 marbled opaque turquoise blue 11/0 Toho bead, 1 Czech glass fluted cathedral bead in crystal, and another marbled opaque turquoise blue 11/0 Toho bead. Create a wrapped wire loop after the last bead and cut off excess wire with flush cutters. Make another 7 of these dangles. Next create 5 dangles with the following pattern of beads: 1 marbled opaque turquoise blue 11/0 Toho bead, 1 champagne 6/0 Czech seed bead, 1 Czech fire polished 6mm bead in key lime/white opal, another 6/0 champagne bead, and another 11/0 turquoise Toho. Finally, make 5 dangles with the following pattern: 1 marbled opaque turquoise blue 11/0 Toho bead, 1 champagne 6/0 Czech seed bead, and another 11/0 turquoise Toho.
-
Cut a 7" length of your Vintaj 10mm heavy round link chain. Lay the chain out on your beading mat. Try to make it so that the links all lay flat and are not too twisted. Without attaching them, arrange your charms and dangles along the length of the bracelet chain. Leave off to the side the large sand dollar charm, we will be using this for the necklace later. Try to spread the charms out so that they are balanced. It is entirely up to you how you wish to arrange these, but if you want to follow the photo, I tried to space out all the charms and dangles evenly so that it was not too "heavy" on one side.
-
Once you are happy with how your layout looks, then it is time to start attaching. To do this, simply and attach them to either the wrapped wire loops at the top of your dangles or the small hoops at the top of your charms. Before closing the jump rings, attach them to the chain links. Go around your bracelet attaching one charm or dangle at a time.
-
Find the round part of your eye clasp and open it like a . Link it to the end chain link of your charm bracelet and then close it back up. Open a 5mm jump ring and attach it to the small hoop at the base of the spiral part of your clasp. Before closing the jump ring, attach it to the end chain link on the opposite side of the bracelet from where you attached the eye part of the clasp. Close the jump ring back up.
For the necklace:
-
Take the 5 inches left over of your heavy link chain from when you cut it earlier for the bracelet. Find the middle link and attach the large sand dollar Vintaj charm to it via a jump ring.
-
Cut your 12" length of Vintaj round rolo chain in half so that you have 2 equal 6" lengths.
-
Open a 5mm jump ring and link it to the end chain link of one of your 6" rolo chain lengths. Link onto it one half of your clasp as well. Close the jump ring. On the other end of your 6" chain length, open and attach another 5mm jump ring and attach it to the end link of your heavy chain which contains your large sand dollar charm. Close the jump ring. Repeat this same process on the other half of your necklace.
-
Enjoy your pretty new set!

If you happen to have a couple brass toned earring hooks at home, just leave off two of your charms from your bracelet and connect them instead to the earring hooks via jump rings. Here is a nice pair of earring hooks which would work well.

Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
