Belle Noir Necklace

A large black Baroque Swarovski pendant hangs gracefully from the center of this draped, dark and glamorous necklace. Perfect with evening wear, especially a little black dress.

Instructions:
- Very gently pry open the pinch bail with your fingers, just wide enough to fit over the top of the Baroque pendant.

Place the bail so that the two prongs align with the hole of the pendant, and gently squeeze it shut. Try using your fingers, in order to avoid chipping the crystal. However, if you need a tighter fit you may want to use a pair of nylon jaw pliers as to not damage the bail. Set the pendant aside for now.

Cut a piece of the heavier Soft Flex at about twenty-four inches long and secure one end with a Bead Stopper.
- The following are instructions for a 20-inch necklace. For a shorter or longer necklace, increase or decrease the first quantity of 16 4mm fire-polish beads in the next step, and mirror this change at the other end of the necklace. If you subtract more than eight beads from each end, you will need to make one fewer of the draped sections described in steps 10-13.

Onto the Soft Flex, thread sixteen 4mm fire polish beads, a beaded loop heishe, nine 4mm fire polish beads, a beaded loop heishe, nine 4mm fire polish beads, a beaded loop heishe, one 4mm fire polish bead, three 5mm fire polish beads, three 6mm fire polish beads, a beaded loop heishe, three 7mm fire polish beads, two 8mm fire polish beads, a beaded loop heishe, and another 8mm fire polish bead.

At this point, thread four 6/0 seed beads and the large Baroque pendant, sliding the bail over the top of the seed beads, covering them up. This is the center of your necklace.

Now thread the other half of the necklace as a mirror image of the first side, starting with three 8mm fire polish beads, and ending with the sixteen 4mm fire polish beads (plus or minus any adjustments you made at the beginning of the necklace).

When you have finished stringing all of your beads, secure this end with a bead stopper as well.

Cut a piece of the extra-fine Soft Flex at about thirty inches long.

Thread the extra fine beading wire through the first eight 4mm beads at one end of your necklace. If you have subtracted beads from the end of the necklace, thread the wire through that many fewer beads, if you have added beads, you will thread through that many more beads. Pull the fine wire through until the extra end length left sticking out is the same as the extra end of the thicker wire. Tuck the end into the bead stopper along with the thicker strand.

Onto the extra-fine Soft Flex thread five 11/0 seed beads, five 6/0 seed beads, one 4mm fire polish, one 5mm fire polish, one 6mm fire polish, one 5mm fire polish, one 4mm fire polish, five 6/0 seed beads, and five 11/0 seed beads.

Thread it though the bottom loop of the nearest beaded heishe spacer, and repeat the last step.

Repeat this beading pattern until you reach the heishe spacer nearest to the center of the necklace.

Add nine 11/0 seed beads and thread your wire through the four 6/0 seed beads under the bail.

From here, finish the other half of your necklace as an exact mirror image of the first.

At each end of the necklace, place a crimp tube over both the thick and the thin wire, but don't crimp yet.

At each end of the necklace, thread the doubled wire through a closed jump ring and back through the crimp bead. Pull the strands tight and crimp your crimp tubes.

Add an open jump ring to each of the closed ones.

To one of the open jump rings, add the hook portion of your clasp, and close the jump ring once more.

To the other jump ring, add the eye portion of your clasp. Close this jump ring as well.
Tip: Check package quantities for each component. You may have extra material to make more than one finished project, or will have leftovers for other projects. In some cases, adding on just one more package of a component may be all you need to make multiple pieces.
