Amazonite
Beautiful and blue-green as the river it’s named after, Amazonite is a favorite substitute for the more expensive Aquamarine. Amazonite can also be found in colors ranging from gray to dull yellow. It is a part of the Feldspar family and is a somewhat soft stone. The ancient Egyptians called this stone the “Stone Of Courage”. It is also called “Amazonstone”, and “Microcline” in the geologic community. Ancient healers believed this stone helped to soothe the nervous system, but just looking at its beautiful color is soothing in and of itself!
