Bezel

A bezel is the metal case or rim into which a gemstone is set. A bezel setting is a technique of setting a stone in jewelry. Typically the stone is held in place by first soldering the bezel, or metal ring, to the base of the jewelry piece. Next, the stone is inserted and the metal is compressed tightly around the stone.
