Tanzanite

Tanzanite is a relatively recent discovery. This unique, blue-lavender gemstone was discovered in Tanzania (hence the name) in 1967. Since then it has quickly become a popular gemstone.

BIRTHSTONE: In October 2002, Tanzanite was added to the official birthstone list by the American Gem Trade Association as an additional birthstone for December.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY: Tanzanite is the accepted gemstone for the 24th wedding anniversary.
