Hi, this is Julie with beadaholique.com is fish bone chain is really cool looking and it's very versatile to use a lot of different projects is quite stinky it's got all these wonderful tabs to it so i want to show you how to measure and cut it but first i want to show you what one single chain link looks like so here it is and the best way I can describe it is that it looks much like a twisty tie so it really kind of interesting little link right there so to measure and cut it let's say you want one inch of it let's lay it against our ruler so we want this link here to be the last intact one so go ahead and grab it and hold it steady so then the link above it the one that's wiggling around is the one we're going to cut go ahead and take your flush cutter and put it right into that center of that link so not the tabs but the link itself the round part and cut and then what you're going to notice is actually going to almost break away and split in half so let me pull apart what we have just cut off so then you would just have to kind of fiddle with it a little bit to remove that link and that is what you end up with so here is the intact link and what this shows you is that that link is actually not soldered together which is really interesting is not going to come undone but it really does break into so I'm going to do that one more time so you can just see how to measure it and cut it I'm go again lay it against my ruler identify the last link that i want to have intact which is this guy right here so i'm going to hold him tight so he doesn't wiggle and then on the one that Wiggles above it go ahead place my cutter right to that interior like that link and cut and then wiggle it out and this one too as you can see really did just break apart and then you just go ahead and remove a little bit of scrap that's left so that is how you measure and cut fish bone chain like it's a really fun versal chain you can find it in a variety of finishes and sizes at beadaholique.com you
