Hi this Megan with Beadaholique.com and today I want to show you how to use at pinch bail to hang a pendant. I just have a really simple variety of pinch bail here with a little loop. I added a jump ring. You can find these in a lot of different varieties. At beadaholique.com we have a lot. I did a search for pinch bails and it came up of about ten pages of results. They're really handy if you want to hang like a Swarovski pendant or another kind of pendant. You want to make sure that you have a pendant that's top drilled. To get the pretty side on the front you're going to want one that's drilled straight through front to back. So all your going to do is very gently use your fingers. If you use your pliers you might ding up the metal and it's really not necessary. It's pretty easy to open. Just gently pull it open Then you're going to put one of the little prongs in the little hole and then just pinch it close that's why it's called a pinch bail. You should be able to get it nice and tight without using a tool. If you do use a tool I recommended nylon pliers so that you don't damage the surface of the metal but you should be able to just push and get it to hold. Like I said I already added a jump ring. You can add it after too. Then you just thread the chain through the jump ring and it's a very fast, easy way to hang those pendants. And that's how you use a pinch bail.
