This large scale rough-cut gemstone nugget necklace is simply fabulous! It is a bold statement piece that is perfect for both spring and summer.

Instructions

The instructions below result in a 16 inch necklace. If you want to make a longer necklace, please add additional seed beads up near the clasp or add an extra nugget bead.

Using your cutters, cut a piece of beading wire that is 24 inches long. Place a bead stopper on one end, 4 inches from the tail.
String onto your wire: 1 crimp bead and 5 Czech glass seed beads.
Next, string 1 nugget bead and 1 seed bead. Repeat this step 15 times, ending with a total of 16 nugget beads and seed beads strung.
Now string 4 more Czech glass seed beads and a crimp bead.
Open your clasp to separate the two sides.
Thread your beading wire through the loop at the side of one half of your clasp, bring it back through the crimp bead and several beads adjacent to it. Crimp your crimp bead and cut off excess wire with flush cutters. Repeat this step on the other side of your necklace.
All done!
