Hi this is Megan with Beadaholique.com and today I'm going to show you how to make a beaded bead using Preciosa twin beads or what I like to call a twin bead beaded bead. So what we'll need to make this beaded bead is twin beads and some thread. I'm using wildfire and I'm using the .008 inch. It's a little bit thicker one of the sizes that we offer. It will help keep your bead nice and sturdy and so that it doesn't cave in. You'll also need two beading needles. I'm using size 10 and then a pair of scissors or a Thread Zap. So start with about three feet of thread. You're going to thread each end into a beading needle. Now as you're working on this bead it's really important to keep your left and your right needles clear and not flip your work over. So try to keep your work flat and try to like put to down and pull the needle to one side and pull the needle to other side. It'll be less confusing if you keep track of which side is which. We're going to be making the bead just like this and it's got this little five bead flower sections that's making up bead. So just keep that in mind that every time we're making a section we're gonna end up with five beads a section. So to begin pick up five beads on the right-hand needle pull it down to about the middle and then take your left hand needle and go through the last bead and make sure you go into the same hole since the beads do have two holes and just pull that tight. You'll see that that is one of those little flower shaped five bead sections that we're going to work. After you make each section you're gonna need to move from that first set of holes to the second set of holes and you'll do that by just taking the right needle through the top hole to the left and then a left needle through the top hole to the right and pull that nice in tight. You want to keep your work tight to keep your bead nice and strong when you're done. So as you go make sure that you pull it not so tight that you break anything but just keep it really snug. Now we're gonna build another five bead set off of this end bead which means we only need to add four because we already have one here that we're going to include. So go ahead and pick up four beads on your right needle and then use your left needle again to go through the last bead and the second one and then you're gonna go through the next set of holes in that bead. Pull it nice and tight. Now we're going to build another group of five beads. We're going to use this bead and this one next to it that's loose that's sticking out. So you're going to take your left needle and go through that next bead to join both of those points together. So now you have two beads starting that little loop. We're only adding three more this time and put those three on your own right needle and then take your left needle through the last one. And then move over to the other set of holes on that last bead. You can see that there's three connected groups of the little set of five there. And again you're gonna take your left needle and go through the next bead to connect those two together. With those two there you're gonna add three more to complete the set of five onto the right onto the right needle and then bring your left needle through the last one. Move out to the next set of holes. Pull it nice and tight. Again take your left needle and go through the next bead to the left. Then three more beads to finish that group of five. Go through the last one with your left needle. Then when you bring your thread through the next hole on that bead this time we're gonna do something a little different we're going to complete the top half of the bead and bring it into a concave shape. So this time once you have that pulled tight instead of going through just the one bead next to it we're going to go through two beads next to that one there. Then since we have three beads on that strand we're gonna only add two more onto your right needle and as always pick up the last bead with the left needle. Now when you pull it tight you can see that it gathers it up. It's not going to lat flat anymore. Put your needles through the next hole in that bead and pull tight. We're gonna make the next one by going through the next group by going through one bead to the left. Pick up three beads to finish that group there. And go through the last one with the left needle. Bring your needles through that other set of holes in that bead and pull it tight. So we're going to take our left needle and go through the next two beads to the left. Then you only need to add two more because you have three already started. So pick up the last one with the left needle and move to the next set of holes. Then again with the left needle go through the next two beads to the left with the right needle pickup two more beads complete the group of five. Pick up the last one with the left needle and move out to the next set of holes. And again pickup the next two beads to the left with your left hand needle. Add two more beads with the right needle catch the last one with your left needle. Move out to the next set of holes on that bead. Pull that tight. This time we're going to go through the next three beads to the left which gives us four beads all ready for the next group. So we only need to add one with right hand needle. Then go through it was also with the left hand needle. Move to the outside is that bead. When you pull that tight you can see you actually already have all the beads here for your last group of five. So all we're gonna do is go through them with the thread to connect them. So take your right hand needle and string right through all those empty holes there. Then take your left needle and go back through just the last one. When you pull that tight you see that's how you a beaded bead using twin beads. Then you'll go back in and tie off your thread and weave it in which you can see how to do in-depth in our video how to tie off and start new thread in bead weaving. That's how you make twin bead beaded bead. Go to Beadaholique.com for all of your beading supply needs!
