The weaving in this necklace is very similar to the pattern used in this video, it just uses different quantities of beads in the units. I recommend watching the video to familiarize yourself with the pattern before you begin.
  1. Thread a size 12 beading needle with a length of .006" Fireline beading thread in crystal. Use as long of a length as you are comfortable working with. You will need to add new thread several times throughout this project. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, watch this video.
  2. Place a bead stopper about 6" from the tail end of your thread.
  3. Onto your needle, thread one Czech glass 2 hole square bead in pink topaz, one Czech tri-cut seed bead in terra metallic steel, one 2 hole square bead in opaque green luster, one seed bead, one pink bead, one seed bead, one green bead, one seed bead, one pink bead, one seed bead, one green bead, one seed bead, one pink bead, one seed bead, one green bead, then one seed bead.
  4. Bring your needle back through the same hole in the first pink bead. You should have a ring that consists of 8 square beads, four of each color alternating, with a seed bead between each square bead. Each unit will be made up of these beads.
  5. Lay your ring of beads flat, with the four pink beads to the outside of the ring, and the four green beads to the inside of the ring.
  6. To complete the unit, bring your needle through the next seed bead and through the next green bead. Then bring your needle back the other way through the second hole in that bead.
  7. String a seed bead, then go through the second hole in the next green bead. Repeat twice more, then string a seed bead on bring your needle back through the first green bead. This is the completed unit that will make up most of this piece.
  8. To move back to the outside of the ring, bring your needle back through the outside hole on the current green bead.
  9. Then continue through the next seed bead and the next pink bead, and then go back through the second hole on that pink bead to begin your second unit.
  10. Using this pink bead as the first bead, create a second unit attached to the first by the one pink bead.
  11. This time, to move to the outside of the unit, go through the next three green beads before you move back to the outer hole, so that when you go back through the pink bead and move to the next hole to start a new unit it is directly across from the last unit.
  12. Each time you finish a unit, you will need to bring your needle through the green bead that is just past the pink bead you want to build your new unit off of.
  13. Continuing in this way, add three more units all right in a straight line.
  14. Then, weave all the way back through the last unit and back into the previous unit. Then, weave through to start a new unit directly below this unit, and complete the new unit.
  15. Now, you'll work two more units moving back to the left that will connect to the row above. That means that you need to work the bottom pink bead from the unit above into the ring when you add your beads at the beginning of the unit.
  16. You should now have a row of five units on the top with a row of three units centered below it.
  17. Weave back through to the center unit in the second row and create one more unit below off of the bottom pink bead. Tie off your thread and weave in the ends.
  18. Cut a 26" piece of fine beading wire. Place a bead stopper a few inches from one end and thread the wire through the outside hole on the left pink bead in the top left unit.
  19. String 8 seed beads on the wire and then go through the bottom pink bead on this unit.
  20. String 5 seed beads and then go down through the left bead in the left unit of the second row.
  21. String 8 seed beads and then go through the bottom pink bead on this unit.
  22. String 5 seed beads and then go down through the left bead in the unit in the third row.
  23. String 8 seed beads and then go through the bottom pink bead on this unit.
  24. Work back up the right side in the same manner, with 8 seed beads between the bottom and right beads in a unit and 5 seed beads between each unit and the next.
  25. When you've gone back through the right side pink bead on the right most unit, pull the ends of your wire even, place bead stoppers on them, and leave them for now.
  26. Cut a 22" length of wire and place a bead stopper near one end.
  27. Bring the wire through the top hole in the top pink bead in the top left unit.
  28. String 9 seed beads, then go through the next top pink bead. Continue across, with 9 seed beads between each top pink beads.
  29. String 6 seed beads after the last pink bead across the top.
  30. String a green square bead, then 10 seed beads.
  31. String a pink square bead, then 10 seed beads.
  32. Repeat this pattern until you've added four green and four pink beads, ending with a group of 10 seed beads.
  33. Remove the bead stopper from the bottom wire on this side. Add 8 seed beads, then go through the second hole on the first green bead.
  34. Then, string 10 seed beads and go through the second hole on the next square bead. Continue through all of the square beads, adding 10 seed beads between each and ending with 9 seed beads after the last pink bead.
  35. Pull the bottom wire through the last seed bead on the top wire. Bring the wire ends even, a few inches from the last bead, pulling any slack back through to the other side. Place a bead stopper after the last bead.
  36. Repeat this process to add the 8 square beads up from the left side as you did for the right.
  37. Remove one of the bead stoppers and place an antique brass micro crimp bead onto both strands of wire. Then bring the wires (together) through an antique brass wire protector, and back down through the crimp tube. Crimp, and trim the ends.
  38. Repeat this process with the other end to attach a second crimp and wire protector.
  39. Use a 5mm, 19 gauge antique brass jump ring to attach one wire protector to an antique brass lobster clasp.
  40. Attach a second jump ring to the other wire protector.
