Retired - Snow Day Necklace

1. From what you learned in the video, mix equal parts A and B; 1/2 oz of each. Mix with a popsicle stick gently until all striations are gone. Scrap the sides of the cup so that you don't whip and create air bubbles.
2. Slowly add the Mica Powder to the resin. You can use a toothpick or scrap of wire to add it to the resin. Then use your popsicle stick to mix it completely.
3. You do not want to add too much. If you add too much, you will change the chemical reaction of the resin and it will not set up properly. Once it has been properly mixed you are ready to add it to your glass ball.
4. Carefully place one drop at a time into the ball. This may take a bit but be patient. You do not want to get any resin on the outside of the ball.
5. Fill the ball just before it hits the top hole. You do not want it to over flow. Also you will need a little space to complete the next few steps.
6. You will need to let the resin cure overnight. In the meantime, continue with the next few steps.
7. Take the brass round stamping and punch a hole in the center using the hole punch pliers.
8. For this next step please watch our video: How to Dap Metal for Jewelry. From what you learned in the video, place the metal dapping block on top of the rubber bench block. Place the stamping blank in the fourth largest cavity and use the corresponding dapping tool. Dap this metal blank until it fits like a bead cap on the glass ball. Tip: Go slowly to get an even dap and not to make dents on the brass stamping.
9. Take the Griffin Silk cord and take it off the card. You will need about 6 inches for this next step. Thread the cord up through the dapped metal blank, up through one metal bead, and around one closed jump ring. Thread it back down through the metal bead and back through the dapped metal blank. Make a double knot.
10. Once the resin has cured fully, continue with these next steps.
11. Place a large dab of glue onto the knot of the griffin silk and fill the well of the resin ball. Place the dapped metal piece on like a bead cap. Make sure you are using enough glue to secure this into place without excessive glue spills.
12. Let glue dry completely.
13. Cut off 18" of chain. String it through the closed jump ring of the "snowball".
14. To one end of the chain, open a jump ring and attach it to the last link of the chain. Close the jump ring.
15. To the other end of the chain, open a jump ring and attach it to the last link of the chain and the loop of one lobster clasp. Close the jump ring.
16. All done!
